American Art Collector Inspiration

I saw this in American Art Collector and loved it,
so I decided to do a small copy as a study for myself -
hope they don't mind.

A few Christmas paintings...

I finally got around to taking a picture of the two paintings I did as Christmas presents. I had a lot of fun with them...

It is finished

Wow, sorry I just realized I never posted the finished product - here you go! It was a hit.

Portrait Progress

As you already know, I've been working on a family portrait of David's older brother Jon and his wife and two kids. Here are some recent photographs of the painting.

Recent work

My landlord has been trying to get me to do a painting of Mount Timp for the past two years and began jokingly threatening to kick us out if I didn't do the painting. Needless to say, I spent a few hours one afternoon and viola! It was more fun than I thought it would be and was easy money...if anyone's interested in buying art let me know.

In other news, I took on the massive challenge of painting a family portrait for David's brother Jon (did I mention that the painting is 2 feet by 3 feet, yeah...it's huge!). We drove out to Colorado a few weeks ago to take their family photos so I could have good pictures to work from and although it was extremely intimidating, yesterday I had at it and got a pretty good start on the painting. The best part about it is that I spent the big bucks for the nicest linen canvas possible, so it's like painting on silk!
